The end of a successful career is in sight: Batum retires after the Olympic Games

Nicolas Batum, a longtime NBA player and member of the French national team, will hang up his sneakers after the end of the Olympic Games in Paris next year, according to information released by his wife.

The hardened winger will wear the captain’s armband at the upcoming Mundobasket and try to use his experience and skills to lead France to the fight for medals.

As for club basketball, Batum is still a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, where he will spend the last season of his playing career.

Let’s recall that Nicolas Batum played for Le Mans during his career, from where he went to the NBA, where he spent the first seven seasons in Portland, and after a short episode in Nancy during the lockout, he strengthened the ranks of Charlotte and finally put on the Clippers jersey.

As for his representative career with France, he can boast of the gold at the Eurobasket in 2013, two years earlier at the same competition he won silver. As for Mundobasket, he has two bronze medals from 2014 and 2019, while at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 he won silver with his compatriots
