Andrea Trinchieri replaces Sergio Scariolo in Virtus

Virtus from Bologna fired Sergio Scariolo from the position of coach of the team today, due to statements at the press conference, which conflicted with the ambitions of the club. However, the Italian giants will not have to wait long for a new strategist.

According to the Spanish Encestando, the recent coach of Bayern Munich, Andrea Trinchieri, is the first candidate to take over the Virtus bench.

Andrea Trinchieri has rich Euroleague experience behind him. He gained affirmation when he introduced Kantu to the elite European competition and made a respectable team out of it.

Later, he led Unix from Kazan, Bamberg, but also Partizan, which broke out of the result crisis with his arrival. The bigger result with the blacks and whites was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, before which Partizan was the first-placed team in the ABA League and the Eurocup.

After two seasons in Partizan Trinichieri, he takes over the bench of Bayern, with whom he almost reached the F4 Euroleague two years ago.

Last season was not at the level of the previous one, so Pablo Lasso was the choice of the Munich club during the summer. With that, Andrea Trinchieri was left without a club, but apparently not for long.
