Malta will once again play host to a top-class athletics event as the 7th edition of the EAP Malta International takes place on 13 June at the Matthew Micallef St. John Athletics Stadium.
The meeting is recognised as a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event and has grown into one of Malta’s most prestigious athletics occasions, featuring regularly on the World Athletics global calendar. It continues to draw athletes from across the world who are looking to earn World Athletics ranking points and test themselves against high-quality international competition.
Over the years, the event has built a strong reputation for well-run competition and a welcoming atmosphere for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators alike. It has also helped raise Malta’s standing in the international athletics world and put the island on the map as a destination for international sport.
The 2026 edition is expected to feature competitors from countries across all continents, giving local athletes the rare chance to compete at international level on home soil, whilst giving Maltese fans the opportunity to watch world-class performances up close.
The programme will cover a broad range of track and field disciplines, with athletes competing not only for victory but also for important ranking points that can help them qualify for major championships.
