Malta's Mario Dalli Appointed as delegate for prestigious European Aquatics waterpolo Events

After four years of dedicated service as a waterpolo delegate in Malta, Mr. Mario Dalli has successfully passed the European Aquatics delegate exams, marking a significant milestone in his career. In recognition of his expertise and commitment to the sport, Mr Dalli was entrusted with two major international assignments, representing Malta on the European stage.

On 17 October 2024, Mr Dalli was appointed as the official delegate for the highly anticipated European Aquatics Waterpolo Euro Cup Group A match in Athens, Greece, between GS Apollon Smyrnis and AN Brescia. The game was officiated by esteemed referees Mr. Jaume Teixido from Spain and Mr. Norbert Ercse from Hungary.

Following this prestigious role, Mr Dalli has been selected as the delegate for the Challenger Cup Women’s Qualification Round in Alba Iulia, Romania from the 7th till the 10th November 2024. The tournament will feature teams from across Europe, including ZVK Crvena Zvezda, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, SSV Esslingen, Galatasaray SK, and host team CSM Unirea Alba Iulia. The referees for this tournament include Ms. Anne Grandin from France, Ms. Lea Saftic from Croatia, Mr. Soma Kovacs from Hungary, and Mr. Jakub Necas from the Czech Republic.

These assignments reflect  Mario Dalli’s growing reputation within European Aquatics and his unwavering dedication to the sport of waterpolo. His involvement in such high-level competitions underscores his ability to manage and oversee key aspects of international water polo events, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
