Yamal has been managing a groin issue and a hamstring problem sustained in April, while Williams has also been recovering from a knock. Both players have remained at Spain’s training base in the United States as part of a tailored rehabilitation programme.

De la Fuente said the pair, along with forward Victor Munoz, are progressing as expected ahead of the Group H opener on 15 June.

“If there are no setbacks in the coming days, we expect them to be available,” he said. “All three are within the expected timelines to arrive in good condition.”

The Spain boss added that final decisions on their involvement would depend on fitness assessments closer to the match.

Spain, who won Euro 2024, are among the favourites for the tournament as they begin their campaign in North America.
